Sensient Flavors Europe

Sensient Flavors Europe, formerly known as C. Melchers, has been in the business of creating essential oils, oleoresins and aromatic raw materials for more than 50 years. Today we supply more than 190 different essential oils to makers of cosmetics, personal and home care products around the world. We operate our own distillation plants in which we concentrate and refine citrus oils as well as rectify spice oils and peppermint oils. Sensient Flavors Europe also distributes peppermint and spearmint oils for the Wm. Leman Company in Germany and the USA.

The former C. Melchers & Co., now part of Sensient Flavors Europe, was founded 1806 in Bremen, Germany, by Anton Friedrich Melchers. As early as 1866, Melchers established operations in Asia, marking the beginning of the company's worldwide expansion. Sensient Technologies acquired C. Melchers & Co. Essential Oils Handels-GmbH in April 2002.
